About Us

David Ousey, Principal/Lettings Manager:

After leaving school in 1968 and having served a long apprenticeship with what was a large family run local chain of Estate Agents (before becoming a National company) David decided in 1993 to open his own practice in his favoured locality of Ferndown and now has over 50 years of experience and through all this time has seen the business flourish. This experience, together with his well trained and organised team has made David Ousey Estate Agency one of the leading agents covering Ferndown, West Parley, West Moors and beyond. Over the past few years David has taken a huge interest in all forms of development from acquiring planning permissions by dealing directly with architects, planners and consultants through to an end result of obtaining planning consents and ultimately selling the respective dwellings.

Celia Batten, Sales Manager/Property Consultant:

Celia has worked in Estate Agency on and off for some 40 years and originally trained under the Fox & Sons family business, going on to be the first ‘woman’ Negotiator the firm had ever had (they were a wonderful family and very ‘old school’). In those days someone working in the business had to know everything there was to know about the various types of construction of properties and what the cause was for any problems that arose. Her interest in property has never waned and matching prospective purchasers with suitable properties has always been her passion and the feedback from vendors and purchasers alike is always favourable in her ‘going the extra mile’ to make the whole process as painless as possible - we all know that buying and selling a property is one of the most stressful things we deal with in life!

Celia has worked in many fields over the years, from Auxiliary Nurse, mortgage adviser, financial advising and PA to the Area Manager of Abbey National, each one with Customer Service being at the forefront of her role. She was Office Manager with David Ousey for 15 years and had a complete break, moving into Adventure Travel for 9 years before her rekindled enthusiasm brought her back to work in property again in May 2020.

We all know that the repour between Vendor, Estate Agent and prospective Purchasers is key and although we have all embraced the modern ‘on line’ working there is still a place for the ‘old fashioned’ way of relationship building to gain a satisfactory outcome for all concerned.

Living in the country just outside Wimborne, Celia loves the theatre and everything outdoors from travel, cycling, gardening, walking her dogs, to looking after her 3 alpacas.
